How to rent a yacht in the UAE: what you need to know?
Yacht rental in the UAE is an opportunity to rent a motor or sailing vessel for sea excursions along the Persian Gulf coast. Yachts of various classes are available: from compact speedboats to premium superyachts. Rental is possible with a captain (skipper) or without, but self-driving requires an international boat driving license.
Main rental areas in Dubai: Dubai Marina with developed infrastructure and access to major attractions, Jumeirah with views of Burj Al Arab, Deira with more budget options. In Abu Dhabi, Yas Bay Marina and Corniche area are popular. Popular routes include trips to Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, Burj Al Arab, and fishing in the open sea.
Rental prices depend on vessel type, duration and season. Compact speedboats from 600 dirhams per hour, mid-range motor yachts from 1200 to 3000 dirhams per hour, premium superyachts from 10,000 dirhams per hour. Half-day rental (4 hours) is cheaper per hour than hourly rental. In high season (October-April) prices increase by 20-30%.
UAE legislation requires insurance for the vessel and passengers. For rental with a captain, no special documents are needed — the captain bears full responsibility for navigation. Deposit is usually 10-20% of the rental cost and is refunded after the trip. Payment is made in dirhams, by bank cards or cash.
Additional services include catering with Arabic and European cuisine, Russian-speaking guide, music equipment, onboard photo session. Fishing gear and echo sounders are provided. Yacht rental is suitable for weddings, birthdays, corporate events and family holidays.
Booking is done through online platforms or local companies at least 2-3 days in advance. In high season, booking 1-2 weeks in advance is recommended. Cancellation is possible 24-48 hours without penalty.
