Sithonia is a peninsula in Greece, the middle of three large peninsulas in the south of Halkidiki, jutting into the Aegean Sea.
It is part of the community of the same name (dim) with the administrative center in the city of Nikiti.
According to mythology, the name of the peninsula comes from the name of Seton, the son of Poseidon.
From the west, Sithonia is washed by the Bay of Kasandra, from the east by the Bay of Ayon Oros; in the south, the peninsula ends with Cape Drepanon.
In the middle part of Sithonia there is the Itamos mountain range (the highest point is Mount Astrapokameno 808 m), covered mainly with pine forests.
The peninsula is one of the main centers of tourism in Halkidiki.
