Tolls in Montenegro are too expensive for the economy and citizens.
Carriers that serve international bus routes, after the government announced highway tolls, are expecting a reduction, because, as Vladan Lalatovich told Radio Montenegro, it is not practiced anywhere that trucks and buses pay the same fee. Hilmo Franca is also counting on subsidies because he says the price of 17 euros is too high for companies that transport goods to supply them to the market.
Residents of Podgorica are happy that they will shorten the road to the north by driving along the first section of the highway, but opinions are divided on the price. Bijelo Polje municipality president Petar Smolović says the goal of the state should be to make the most of the highway and not, as he says, be empty.
It is not yet known when the first section of the route will be opened. The authorities promise that citizens and tourists of Montenegro will travel during the main season.
