Bangkok, Thailand, October 23, 2023 - Thailand, with its incredible culture, magnificent beaches and a variety of entertainment, has long attracted tourists from all over the world. However, recently, reports of fraud related to the exchange of money have become more frequent.

The "Triangle" Scheme in Action

One of the common fraudulent schemes used in Thailand is known as the "triangle" scheme. This scheme often works as follows: scammers advertise their services through telegram channels, offering tourists to exchange currency. They offer to meet with a courier who, according to the promise, will withdraw Thai baht from an ATM and give them to the client.

However, before this happens, the tourist is invited to transfer rubles from a Russian card to a card in a Russian bank at the agreed exchange rate. After the transfer and meeting with the courier, the scammers enter the wrong code at the ATM, and the client discovers that he cannot receive cash baht. As a result, both the tourist and the hapless courier were deceived.

How to Protect Yourself

To avoid encountering scammers during your trip to Thailand, follow these tips:

Be Careful: Carefully choose with whom you exchange currency. Trust only official exchange offices.

Do not Transfer Money in Advance: Never transfer money to the card before you get the currency in your hands.

Check your Reputation: If you still want to use the services of local exchange offices, make sure that they have positive reviews and reputation.

Don't Trust Strangers: Don't agree to meet strangers offering currency exchange on the street.

Report to the Police: If you are a victim of fraud, be sure to report to the police. Rubles could have gone to the account of scammers, and this should be stopped immediately.

We recommend all tourists to be extremely careful and take care of the safety of their money during their stay in Thailand. Keep scammers away from your financial resources and enjoy a wonderful journey through this amazing country.
