Real estate in Thessaloniki. Prices, districts.
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece after Athens. The city is well known for its glorious and long history: at one time, the city was the capital of Macedonia, the empire of Alexander the Great, and then the second city of the Byzantine Empire after Constantinople. It was also a major trade center of the country and, due to its geographical location, still remains a good strategic business center in the region.
The city is also famous for its unique lifestyle. The city center is located on the coast and every day and night many restaurants with delicious and refined menus, trendy bars and cafes open their doors there. This popular place has a more relaxed lifestyle than the capital. Everything seems much closer, and most of the attractions are within walking distance of the city center. Numerous monuments, museums (archaeological, Byzantine, etc.), old churches are certainly worth more than one visit. Apartments are mostly bought from real estate.
It is a student city due to its prestigious universities. Shopping is common even among Athenians, who can specially come here for a day or two to visit the beautiful shops and boutiques on Tsimiski Street and its numerous alleys. The average price of a property starts from 100,000 euros. Many investors buy housing and rent it to students all year round.
To see the city in all its glory, you should stay there for about a week and the Greek real estate agency Discount-House will help you with this. We can also offer excellent rental properties.
