I also recommend using Betokontact in preparation for wallpapering painted walls. If some areas of oil paint cannot be removed mechanically, there is no need to torment yourself or the walls, there is no need to resort to chemical solutions or grinding machines. It is enough to treat stubborn islands with Concrete contact, putty twice – that's all the preparation, now the surface is ready for gluing. There are no such problems with water–based paint - it needs to be washed away with warm water, cleaned with a spatula, and then washed off with a sponge.
Preparation for wallpapering in a new building. Here we most often deal with concrete load-bearing walls, as well as aerated concrete and foam concrete partitions. Concrete can be primed with concrete contact, plastered and primed again. Aerated concrete and foam concrete must first be plastered.
The preparation of drywall walls for wallpapering consists in priming and putty, which is necessary to eliminate the difference in shades between the color of drywall and the white areas of putty seams and screw caps. If the drywall is installed correctly, there are no drops on it, no joints are visible, the seams and screws are plastered, and the wallpaper is thick and dense, for example, foamed vinyl, then in order to save money, you can only do with priming.
Preparation of plastered walls for wallpapering. If the plaster was applied by machine and executed perfectly, there are no microcracks and other defects on its surface, priming will be quite enough. But if a private master plastered in a Soviet-style or some other antediluvian way, putty is inevitable.
