The Golden Bazaar of Deira (Deira Gold Souk) became popular back in the 40s of the last century, when merchants from Iran and India opened their shops here. There are an incredible amount of gold bracelets, rings, necklaces, as well as diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires here. According to some estimates, about 10 tons of gold are put up for sale on the market every day. There is very serious security here, but no one guarantees that pickpockets will not be more agile, so be very careful.
