The UAE has developed new rules for tourists accompanying infants on flights of the country's airlines. According to data from 01/22/2024, the changes relate to travel with children under the age of two.
Major airlines such as Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai and Air Arabia provide clear guidelines and restrictions to ensure maximum comfort and safety of infants during the flight.
Emirates reports that children under two years old are classified as infants. They can travel on their parents' lap, wearing a special seat belt, or in a cradle, which can be ordered when booking tickets online.
Etihad Airways, in turn, provides stricter requirements. Babies can fly from the seventh day of life, but only if they were born without complications. In case of prematurity or medical problems, it is necessary to provide medical information and a conclusion.
Flydubai notes that adults can travel with newborns who have reached seven days old. While Air Arabia categorically does not accept babies under two days old, from the third to the sixth day it allows travel only if you have a "Fit to Fly" certificate.
These changes are aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of the youngest passengers. Parents are also provided with additional amenities such as free strollers, baby cots and discounted tickets.
It is important to keep these new rules in mind when planning trips with babies to avoid misunderstandings and ensure a pleasant trip for the whole family.
