Starting from February 16, 2024, the Emirates will introduce a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan.
In the light of the ever–changing map of international relations and tourism, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is pleased to announce an important event - the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan from February 16, 2024. This historic agreement was signed at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 16, 2024 and will provide Uzbek citizens with the opportunity to stay in the Emirates without having to issue entry visas for 30 days.
This step was the result of the signing of a protocol on cooperation on mutual visa exemption between the Governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UAE, Abdulaziz Akkulov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Khalid Abdullah Belhul, signed this document, which will duly enter into force on February 16, 2024.
It is important to note that in 2023, 119.45 thousand Uzbek citizens visited the UAE, who spent an impressive 9.2 million US dollars on tourist visas. These figures indicate the rapid development of tourist ties between the countries and emphasize the importance of the new visa-free regime.
According to the terms of the agreement, Uzbek citizens can enjoy their stay in the UAE without unnecessary bureaucratic formalities for a month. This positive development reflects the UAE's strategic decision to further develop tourism and strengthen friendly ties with other countries.
This agreement was part of a broader UAE campaign to create a comfortable environment for tourists from all over the world. Opening the doors to Uzbek citizens without the need for a visa underlines the Emirates' desire to attract tourists and strengthen its position in the global tourism community.
This news follows similar agreements with other countries such as Armenia, which will also be able to visit the UAE without a visa from February 1, 2024. The agreement between the UAE and Armenia was signed in September 2023 and ratified in December of the same year.
Thus, the UAE continues to develop its tourism infrastructure, making its country more accessible and attractive to visitors from all over the world. The new visa–free regime for Uzbek citizens is not only a convenience for tourists, but also another step towards strengthening cultural and economic ties between the UAE and Uzbekistan.
These transformations in the UAE's tourism policy are a prime example of strategic thinking and the desire to create an open, welcoming society for all who wish to immerse themselves in the unique UAE experience.
