The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, noted that the unemployment rate in the country at the moment is only 4.7%, which is the lowest in recent decades. He also stressed that 34% of new jobs were created for young people last year, which indicates the government's desire to support young workers.

The President noted that despite the economic crises, the government focuses not only on increasing nominal wages, but also on the real incomes of Dominican citizens. He also stressed the importance of vocational education as a basis for the economic and social development of the country.

The event was held with the participation of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFOTEP) and discussed the topic of vocational education as a key element of development. Labor Minister Luis Miguel de Camps stressed the importance of sharing experiences between the countries of the region and the need to develop strategies to ensure prosperity and justice.

Director General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Ungbo noted that the development of skills and lifelong learning play a key role in the prosperity of employees and companies.

INFOTEP Director Rafael Santos Badia announced plans to adapt the offer of educational services to the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution, which affects the lives of people and businesses.
